Terry Metcalf

Terry Metcalf is a former pro football player in the N.F.L. Terry established All-Pro honors five out of nine seasons while in the league with the St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Redskins. He has been recognized as a member of the N.F.L’s All-Time Top 100 Players, inducted in 1986 to the Long Beach State Hall of Fame, and listed by the Seattle Times as one of the State of Washington’s top 10 high-school running backs in state history.

Terry has dedicated his life after the N.F.L. to developing and educating youth. Presently, as the Reading Specialist and nine year educator at Zion Preparatory Academy in Seattle, Washington, Terry believes that it is the collective effort of parents, educators, and the community alike that will improve youth literacy and reading levels of young people.

When it comes to the interest of youth, Terry’s efforts in the community have been tireless. Mr. Metcalf has volunteered his time for eight years as assistant football coach at Franklin High School. He shares the balance of his personal time between family, serving as youth pastor and as an ordained minister of the gospel at Zion United House of Prayer.
