What's Happening in 2011!

Emphasize Life Sciences!
Our newest program direction is centered on exposing families & youth to life sciences. Model Families welcomes our partners in the effort: Seattle Aquarium, Seattle Audubon Society
Going forward this fruitful opportunity will explore hands-on educational animal species projects of all kind, with a special emphasis on birds & aquatic animals. With the help our partners, Model Families hopes to encourage the next generation of life science professionals, and life-long hobbyist in the community of Seattle.

Seattle Audubon Bird Walks
Model Families and Seattle Audubon guests are invited to go on a bird walk, to introduce them to one of many fine birding locations in the greater Seattle area. Beginning birders, or are new to the Seattle area, will especially enjoy this initial exposure to the rich variety of bird life in our region. Each trip will be held on a Saturday morning, rain or shine, and will last about two hours. No sign up is required; just show up before the specified start time and enjoy the guidance of experienced birders.

Emphasize the Arts!
Model Families is working hard to partner with existing local organizations and patrons to bring our families the very best in local arts. We thank our community partners who make these opportunities possible: Kirkland Performance Center, Studio East Storybook Theater, Northwest Puppet Theater, Seattle Aquarium
